Urban SDK Partners With El Cajon

Urban SDK, the leading provider of traffic management software, is proud to announce its partnership with the city of El Cajon to effectively address speeding complaints and enhance road safety.

As part of its commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and visitors, El Cajon will now be able to address speeding concerns more promptly and effectively. By partnering with Urban SDK, the city aims to leverage the platform's best-in-class technology to monitor speeding incidents and implement targeted solutions.

"To be able to pull speed and volume data on every roadway of every functional class throughout El Cajon will be a game-changer for us," said the city's Associate Traffic Engineer Raul Armenta. "Like many communities across the US, resources can be limited — from an administrative, public safety, and citizen service perspective. Urban SDK will allow us to shift from a reactionary to a proactive stance, and get out in front of potential issues before any incidents occur."

With Urban SDK's innovative solutions, El Cajon will have access to speed and volume data — including AADT and VMT — on all roads in the community. City officials will also enjoy the ability to upload their crash database onto Urban SDK's platform to correlate collisions with rates of speed and the number of cars on roads.

"El Cajon is big on tech adoption, especially when it comes to improving the level of service & overall safety for their citizens," said Urban SDK's Eric Wingbermuehle. "They are the first of many in the San Diego area to bring on Urban SDK, and we are very excited for them to utilize our software's potential."

"[Urban SDK] will also allow for our Local PD to identify speeding hotspots, and assign resources to those areas to enhance the overall infrastructural safety of El Cajon," said Armenta.

El Cajon joins a growing list of California communities that leverage Urban SDK for road safety and reporting to the community — including Tulare County, Santa Cruz, and Bakersfield.
