Wheaton, Illinois partners with Urban SDK to help with public speeding complaints and asset deployment for officers.
Urban SDK, a leading provider of traffic management software, is pleased to announce its newest partnership with the vibrant city of Wheaton, Illinois. This collaboration will help officials handle speeding complaints, while also streamlining asset deployment for the city's police department.
"We are excited to begin working with the city of Wheaton," said Urban SDK's AVP of Revenue Micah Dickman. "With the college and the shops and Chicago nearby, it really is a beautiful slice of Americana. We feel very fortunate to help everyone at the city further their commitment to road safety."
Wheaton's Traffic Unit is run by its police department and "is comprised of four patrol officers and a sergeant with the primary focus of addressing known and reported traffic concerns throughout the city." As concerned citizens file complaints, officers then determine their viability and create mitigation plans.
Urban SDK delivers data on all local roadways, including speeds, volumes, traffic delays, and crashes. By using the platform, officers will be able to quickly manage traffic concerns and effectively deploy resources. Officers can also share their findings with other departments around the city, helping with Wheaton's mission to "collaboratively [work] with other city departments to enhance roadway conditions and safety measures."
Wheaton is the latest Illinois municipality to partner with Urban SDK on traffic calming initiatives, joining the Villages of Oak Park and Skokie.
