The City of Lakeway, Texas, has partnered with Urban SDK, a leading traffic management platform, to enhance the way it handles public speeding complaints and overall traffic safety.
With a population of over 19,000, Lakeway is a growing community located in the Hill Country near Austin. The city receives daily speeding complaints, with traffic issues being the number one driver of community feedback. Lakeway’s public safety team, which includes three dedicated motor officers and patrol officers running radar, has struggled to manage the volume of complaints. As many of the complaints don’t meet the 12-15+ mph over the speed limit threshold to be considered valid, this often results in unnecessary resource allocation and community frustration.
To complement their existing temporary speed monitoring equipment, the city sought a more proactive solution, leading them to partner with Urban SDK.
