Urban SDK Partners With Loveland

The City of Loveland, Colorado, has teamed up with Urban SDK to enhance its approach to managing public speeding complaints and road safety. Loveland, with a population of approximately 77,000, is addressing a growing concern over speeding in specific problem areas, such as West 18th Street around Eisenhower and Wilson.

The partnership will enable the city to leverage Urban SDK’s advanced traffic management platform, offering traffic speed data and comprehensive analytics to better inform decision-making and enforcement efforts.

This collaboration marks a significant step for Loveland, joining other Colorado municipalities such as Larimer County, already utilizing Urban SDK’s platform to improve traffic safety.

Challenges with Speeding in Loveland

Loveland has long been managing public complaints related to speeding, especially in high-traffic areas. The city has relied on interns and radar counters to conduct traffic studies and gather data, but the process can be time-consuming and limited in scope.

To tackle these concerns more effectively, the City of Loveland has chosen to upgrade its existing methods by incorporating Urban SDK’s traffic management platform.

The platform will allow the city to:

  • Gather traffic speed data to identify speeding patterns and validate public complaints
  • Track traffic volumes across key streets to monitor congestion and assess road safety
  • Implement targeted traffic calming measures, such as enforcement or speed limits, to address high-risk areas
  • Streamline the data collection process and reduce reliance on manual traffic studies, allowing staff to focus on more strategic enforcement initiatives

Urban SDK’s Role in Improving Traffic Safety

Urban SDK's powerful traffic management platform provides Loveland with critical data that will help inform its enforcement strategies and improve public safety. By using Urban SDK, city officials can gain insights into traffic speed data and patterns, improving their ability to assess the impact of traffic calming efforts and deploy resources more efficiently.

Urban SDK's Ross Loehr emphasized the importance of this partnership:

"We’re thrilled to partner with the City of Loveland and support their efforts to address public speeding concerns in key problem areas. Our platform empowers the city to monitor traffic volumes and speeds in real time, providing them with the data necessary to make informed decisions that enhance traffic safety for residents and commuters alike."

A Growing Network of Colorado Clients

Known for its vibrant arts scene, outdoor activities, and proximity to the Rocky Mountains, Loveland joins 10 other Colorado organizations like Brighton, Northglenn, Manitou Springs and the aforementioned Larimer County in using Urban SDK’s traffic management platform. As a growing city with an increasing need for reliable traffic data, Loveland is committed to using the best tools available to address road safety challenges and respond to public concerns.

Urban SDK’s data capabilities will help Loveland take a more proactive stance on traffic enforcement and traffic calming, making its roads safer and more manageable as the city continues to grow.
